Tenderloin was phenomenal (the bacon and cheese sauce on it was an excellent touch). The fries were lacking, pretty soggy and didn't taste the best, however it was on a delivery so that could have factored into it.

This is about my second visit here. The first time I came in with a friend who really wanted to try the tenderloin, while I had a banana shake. My friend let me try a bit of his tenderloin and I was impressed. I ordered my shake and asked for a large banana shake. The waiter was more than happy to make it and it was delicious. I even ended up tipping him an extra 2 dollars. I would be giving a very high review for this place IF all my experiences were as good as the first. The second time I stopped by, I asked for a large banana shake. The waitress told me they didn't have a large shake. I said I had one last time, and she just shrugged and made me a regular shake. She brought it over to me and asked for the $3.19 for the shake. I gave her a $5 and picked up the drink. I then noticed it was only half full. I asked where the rest of it was and she again shrugged and walked away. I grabbed a straw and walked outside to get in my car and then realized she never gave me my change. I decided it wasn't worth my time and drove away, as I decided I'd never set foot back in the place despite how good it was the first time. I'll also be telling people about this last experience when asked about the place.

great pork tenderloin sandwich. Was a little thinner than many but than gave it crunch which I prefer over chewiness that I have found in some pork sandwiches. super friendly service. Server came back to table after we had a few minutes to enjoy our sandwiches to ask if it was the best. He truly wanted it to be.

Obviously Joensys is known for their deep fried tenderloin sandwich but I Love the teximelt with ranch! The teximelt is a grilled pork tenderloin with melted Swiss cheese, topped with carmelized onions and mushrooms, served on texas toast.Service was great, there was a nice young man that greeted us with a smile and kept bringing us the ranch dressing. At this Joensys you order at the register and they bring the food to you. Very fast friendly service.

This was one of my husband's favorite places back when he lived in Cedar Rapids, and while we were there last weekend visiting his mom, he decided I was worthy enough to bring along to Joensy's. (We've been married 11 years. It's about damn time. LOL) There are booths along the walls, table in the middle, self-serve soda fountain, sticky floor in front of said soda fountain.....you know the drill. My husband got the regular pork tenderloin sandwich, and my mother-in-law and I shared a small. Wise decision. Holy @$%*balls! His sandwich was a MONSTER. I found it particularly amusing that they garnish this turkey-platter sized "sandwich" with a sweet, innocent looking sesame seed bun (I snapped a pic). You know what? That sandwich ROCKED. The very nice server brought ours to the table with an extra basket and bun, as she had overheard my mum-in-law and I talking about sharing it. It was cooked perfectly, breaded, and NOT seasoned. I like that. I enjoyed mine with a little tiny bit of mustard and some pickles. Yum! Well, I see what all the fuss is about. For years I've heard my husband speak wistfully of Joensys's, and now I understand. Very tasty!

A great place to get a Genuine Iowa Tenderloin.. Big, pounded thin, breaded and deep fried on a big soft bun. Skip the catsup and mustard.. These are great with the just the lettuce, onion, tomato and pickle they put on when you order your Tenderloin with everything. They also have daily specials.. $4 or $5 for a sandwich, side and a drink.. Its not very fancy.. no wolf-gang pucks in this kitchen, just a nice group of young people doing a fine job of cooking All American Fast Food...

Marshmallow cream on sweet potato fries? A better idea in concept than in reality. What ever happened to taking a sweet potato, cutting it in slices, and frying it? Why do restaurants have to buy those pre-cut crinkle "fries", and then fry them until they look crisp, which means dry and tasteless? And for the tenderloin? This would not even make my top five. No flavor, dry, thin, and not worth the calories. When I splurge on a tenderloin, I want a TENDERLOIN. So, if you want big, and that's how you rate your food, then have at it. But, if you like flavor, try TC's Point After in De Witt.

I was warned it would be big, but I didn't expect it to be that big. I was a little frightened that I couldn't handle the whole thing at one time. It was actually bigger than my head. I'm talking about the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich at Joensy's of course, what else could I be talking about? I'm not even really sure why it's on a bun, it's about 4 times the size of the bun. It was hanging out both side of it's to-go container. It was good with some mayo, pickles, and onions. Mmmmm. The restaurant is a counter service joint with plenty of booths and tables for seating, but most were just waiting for to-go orders. The prices are really good. Actually I'd say more like cheap. I got two large tenderloin sandwiches (no idea why I got the large) for me and mom. They were only $5.95 each, and one is definitely enough for two people.

Went here once. Ordered the tenderloin and fry basket. Fries are ok. Tenderloin was nt good at all. Soggy and you could feel the grease pour into my mouth on every bite. I will go to the other one in center point. Never will I go to this one.

Joensy's BPT. You know what i'm talking about: the famous breaded pork tenderloin. It's a fantasy we all revel in... What a good sandwich... Sure, a homemade bun that could better stand up to the pork would be nice. But be honest: no single bun can hold the weight of the world. On its dinner-plate landscape, Joensy's BPT takes up a lot of real-estate. I'd reckon it as the last frontier.. But Joensy's goes boldly where no man has gone before. The blueprint draws out a thick, tender, &succulent sandwich that lacks gristle. Its juicy, and not tooooo greasy. The appropriation of breading to pork is carefully calculated.. Can they pull it off? Yes, indeed they can. The final product is a sight to be seen and a meal to devour! So go on! Go on drooling atop your keyboard, and do it unabashedly. I'm drooling, too. I'm drooling although i've just polished one off. I am, I suppose, ready for round two.

touting they are the biggest and best tenderloin...uhm- it's good. but you need to serve beer if you have this on your sign and your specialty is frying food. the small loin WAS bigger than my head- but i'm a quality over substance eater so size really doesnt matter to me. only two slight criticisms- needs salt and was a little fatty- but it was enjoyable. i would be willing to forgo my current wardrobe however, in order to try to mow down as many of their delicious waffle fries and possible.
